Album Release Concert and Family Mantra Gathering at Jógasetrið

Sunday 15 November, 14:00 – 15:15

Hello everyone!

You are invited to an album release concert and family mantra gathering at Jógasetrið! ☺

Harpa Fönn released her first children's album on 1 August, and to celebrate she is holding a release concert and family mantra gathering at Jógasetrið on Sunday 15 November at 14:00.

🐥 The children's album is called Ungi and features 13 new original songs – cheerful refrains mixed with reflections, calming verses and mantras

🙏 Although the songs are written mainly for babies and children up to primary school age, they are for the whole family and everyone who cares for children, so everyone can sing along.

🤗 Everyone is warmly welcome to the concert – children, families, individuals, and anyone who connects with finding the child within. The concert will feature original mantras and reflections on Hope and Love, as well as well-known mantras such as Om Mani Padme Hum, and the beautiful refrain Eilífðarsól. The other songs and lyrics, in Icelandic, reflect courage and expression, repetition and the simple yet often honest vocabulary of children at this age.

💚 Jógasetrið holds a special place in Harpa's heart. She spent many hours here in pregnancy yoga and mom & baby yoga, and both her children have come to kids yoga here 🍃

Harpa is a mother of two and has been making music for many years. She also works in the performing arts and is trained as a lawyer and yoga teacher.

🧘‍♂ Harpa founded and runs the project Yoga Vegferð together with her husband, Árni Kristjánsson, who is also a yoga nidra teacher. Through Yoga Vegferð they release guided meditations, bedtime stories, mindfulness exercises, calming verses and other gentle content, to bring yoga and meditation into the everyday lives of children and young people, as well as adults. Ungi is the first album released under Yoga Vegferð, and a children's book with QR codes linking to selected songs from the album is in the works, to be published by Bókabeitan.

🪆 Joining Harpa at the concert are the artists Dísa Hreiðarsdóttir and Íris Þórarins, who also work with mantras and spiritual soundscapes. They have accompanied Harpa for a long time through composing, sound journeys and performance, especially with their band Grúska Babúska.

🎵 Harpa brings her training, approach and experience into the music and lyrics of the baby album Ungi.

👶 Harpa wrote Ungi while raising her children, who are now 6 and 8, so the songs were written and shaped over six years. They are a thoughtful blend of comforting refrains, mantras, lullabies and little tunes – simple and catchy, calm and tender.

We hope to welcome as many of you as possible,
Harpa, Dísa, Íris and Auður

About mantras

A mantra is a repeated sound or word that creates a physical and energetic vibration. This frequency activates and opens the throat chakra (Vishuddha) — the center of expression and voice — helping us release blockages and speak our own truth with confidence and clarity.
